Starbucks redesigns yet again with their revised, more minimal logo version for 2011. Not only did they remove the “Starbucks Coffee” text, but they also reduced the mark to one color.
MSNBC reports:
Starbucks says the changes amount to more than nips and tucks to its favorite lady. The fresh look goes with a new direction for the company as it makes its way back from its toughest times in its 40-year history.
Adfreak has some interesting insights as well:
The inspiration for the siren logo—early versions of which have been called obscene by some—goes back to a 16th century Norse woodcut found by Seattle graphic designer Terry Heckler.

Italian fashion house Prada has now created a way for its fans to customise its sunglasses. Entitled “Private,” the glasses feature moveable arms that are capable of personalisation. Fans can choose the color of the frames before choosing from a selection of letters, numbers and symbols to modify the glasses and identify them as their own. The character insertion process can be repeated by simply removing the arms and replacing the symbol, so there’s no need to worry if you’ve changed your mind as to the way in which you wish to have your pradaprivates decorated. The pradaprivate glasses are now available at Prada boutiques worldwide.
